Resolve (in a world of darkness and light)

When night falls, we will not be afraid.
In our minds, we will weave cocoons of light around ourselves.
Spinning and laughing and saying 'Look here!
We know that dawn is coming.
See how we are not afraid.'

When we close our eyes,
it won't be to shut anything out,
but to be rested when the light returns.
To sleep sweetly,
dreaming of light as playthings;
as bouncing balls and jump ropes
as hats and gloves and bracelets.
Passing light among ourselves,
Giving and sharing, pushing the darkness aside,
saying, 'Make way, make way!
We will hold the light.
We will be ambassadors of the day.'

On moonless nights,
our dreams will shimmer with stars and fireflies.
With the Aurora Borealis.
We will breathe deep.
We will wake content.
Through any darkness
We will be not afraid.
