making it through, and better

Disappointment injects her veins
touches her temple; a sign of strain
But still she smiles, and for awhile, she puts it away.

Bittersweet, is this cup
Logic and lessons learned; drink up
Or tried and true, the color is blue, at least today.

Round she turns and turns once more
On her tiny piece of floor
She'd run someplace but red of face she doesn't like to be.

She puts down words but doesn't know
Exactly how they ought to go
But still she tries, and life supplies, most reasons candidly.

She writes a note upon her hand
Gives it away, a thing unplanned
Parting lips and hands of hips, she has something to say.

Laugh while walking in a room
Scare away the doubt and gloom
Wake up tomorrow and seep the sorrow away
