Rocks To Rubies

You trade my rocks for rubies
A higher value they
In this profound injustice
You turn me not away

You turn my scribbles into songs
This jibberish which demands
My way, and yet I yearn to long
To fall into Your hands

You gave me a body, mind, and heart
I take for granted so
The glorious impact of each day
Which You design and know

A soul You placed inside this frame
Of sinew, blood, and bone
With thankfulness I weep and shout
For You won't leave me alone

I'm dross, yet You make silver
And give me strength to bear
The refinement of Your fire
Through pain, such joy to share

You trade my stones for sapphires
Such lovely worth have they
You give me grace to lift my eyes
When You ask me to stay
